Case Study
A leading Indian bank protects over 500,000 files of high-net-worth PII with Seclore

One of India’s largest banks needed to share its database of high-net-worth customers’ information internally but without making it vulnerable to data exfiltration. Seclore’s custom integration allows the bank to share sensitive information securely with 20,000 users and protects it from leaks and insider threats.

The Challenge
Protecting high-net-worth individuals’ PII
As one of the largest banking institutions in the world, our client keeps an updated database of high-net-worth (HNW) customers.
The bank’s Customer Relationship Managers (CRMs) regularly need to access these customers’ personal details to offer them specialized services like private banking, wealth management, and investment services.
Without the proper security in place, CRMs could inadvertently—or even maliciously—share this database with external users.
This database of HNW customers is very valuable and any leaks could have serious consequences, including legal liability, reputational loss, and significant revenue loss if a competitor successfully poached these customers.
The bank needed to put systems in place to protect their HNW customers’ database without disrupting their own employees’ business workflows and ability to do their jobs.
The Solution
Custom-built integration with Seclore SDK
To keep their customer details secure, the bank built a custom integration using Seclore’s comprehensive Software Development Kits (SDKs) that encrypts customer details from the HNW database before they are downloaded from the CRM portal.
Now, only authorized customer relationship managers can access the protected customer data without jeopardizing its security. Sharing and forwarding with unauthorized users is restricted. Once protected, the files cannot be shared externally and allow for limited internal circulation.
The Results
Protecting over 500,000 files every month
With Seclore’s custom solution, HNW customer PII is secure, which prevents the potential revenue and reputation loss that leaks would cause.
Over 500,000 files are protected each month for approximately 20,000 active users. With Seclore, 3% of external sharing has been identified as unauthorized and prevented.
Through all this, bank employees see minimal change to their user experience and almost no disruptions to their workflows.
